A very heavy linen made from coarse double-spun thread, loosely woven and dyed in cheap colours — brown, grey, or undyed. It is the cloth used for cloth armour, and for sailcloth, sackcloth and the like. It weighs about 24 ounces the square yard. A standard cloth is 2 yards by 24, or 48 square yards, so a whole cloth costs 480d.
