Horn, bone, hunting

A simple hunting horn fashioned from a large bone—typically deer antler or boar tusk—carved into a tapered tube and stoppered at the narrow end. Less refined than a horn proper, the bone horn produces a higher, more shrill note. Shepherds and common huntsmen favor them for their low cost and portability; a competent player can shape signals clear enough to direct a hunting pack across broken country.
