Linen, per sq yard

Light flax cloth, somewhat coarse, cheap colours; the common shift and shirt cloth.

The standard flax-based cloth, light and somewhat coarse, dyed in cheap colours and made chiefly at rural sites by cheap but marginally skilled labour. Emelrene linen is a finer-woven variant of smoother thread, made by skilled and mainly urban craftsmen and dyed in a wide range of colours. It weighs about 6 ounces the square yard. A standard cloth is 2 yards by 24, or 48 square yards, and costs 192d.
