A fine, fulled cloth of good wool — heavy and soft, near to felt, in a wide range of strong bright colours. It is made only by skilled guildsmen in the towns. It weighs about 16 ounces the square yard. Woven at 2 yards by 24, it is fulled and then stretched back to about 1.6 yards by 22.5, so a worsted cloth runs 36 square yards rather than the usual 48, and costs 864d.
