A heavy quarrel topped with a wide, barbed iron head forged with two or three sharpened flanges and fitted to a reinforced socket. The broad head cuts deep into unarmoured flesh and lodges past the barbs, bleeding out a wounded beast or pitching a rider from the saddle. Line-crossbowmen and caravan guards favor them for open engagements where armor is thin and the quarry rides close.
