Light Bodkin Bolt

Light narrow shaft, small square spike; pierces light mail, flat trajectory.

A light, narrow-shafted crossbow quarrel ending in a small square-sectioned iron spike, socketed and pitched into the wood. The slender head pierces light mail and leather at close range, and the reduced weight lets the bolt travel flatter than a standard quarrel. Hunters and skirmish-crossbowmen carry them for unarmoured foes and lightly-clad raiders.
