A weighted wooden truncheon bound with iron, the simplest of all bludgeons. Whether turned or hewn from a single piece of heartwood or grafted from a thicker branch fitted to a shorter haft, it swings with enough weight to break bone and crush the breath from a man’s chest. Cheap to make and found in the hands of garrison guards, city watch, and desperate levies.
